~IMPORTANT HINTS FOR GREATER PRODUCTIVITY~
=============
~BACKUP DRIVE:~
For Backup drive (second parameter in the command) you may choose any DOS drive
(or partition) letter available on which you wish to place the Backups on.
You could backup even to a CD REWRITABLE, if you have the appropriate
software! However, this has NOT been tested yet!
Ideally, this should be (but doesn't have to be) an External removable or
Portable Drive, which is recognized by DOS, so
a. You get infinite storage via cartridges
b. the backups remain safe from any disaster, man-made or God-ordained!
c. You have instantaneous and Easy access to ALL Backup Files.
=================================
~PORTABLE (Cartridge based) DRIVES~
Also, if possible, please install this software itself on a removable cartridge
so it wont be destroyed or corrupted.
Again, ideally you should own a Portable (or removable) External Drive, which
will make your Backups far more easily accessible and give you far greater
control over your monster hard disk, which gets out of control once too
often!
In addition, an external (Cartridge based) Hard Drive gives you an infinite
amount of storage space with almost equally fast (sometimes even faster)
access as compared to your internal drive.
ThE WIZARD organizes the backups on the Backup (external or internal) drive
so well, that even after a complete crash of your entire internal drive,
you can pinpoint the path of each of the (lost or damaged directory or
directories just by looking at the `dir' listing of the backup drive!
This is all you need to make a complete recovery!! This is why it is
RECOMMENDED that the Backup Drive be completely INDEPENDENT of your
internal drive.
NO OTHER BACKUP SOFTWARE CAN DREAM OF DOING THIS!
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO INSTALL THIS SOFTWARE ON AN EXTERNAL cartridge oriented
DRIVE IF YOU POSSIBLY CAN!!
Otherwise, you might lose the software along with the rest of the data on
the Internal Drive! Get an External or Portable Drive today. We will be
glad to recommend one by email if you would write to us.

~HINTS FOR GREATER PRODUCTIVITY:~
Identify the first-level Directories incorporating files (or subdirectories)
that get modified or updated on a regular basis. Prepare a `named' list
of such Directories using `Preplist.exe'. Press Esc and choose menu item
'Features.doc' for details on 'List Processing'.
Use listnames freely in `Bkup, Bkpext and Unpack' commands. Modify (by editing)
these list/s if and when needed, when your file organization changes.
BETTER YET! Use the AUTOPILOT feature explained in setinfo.doc and back up all
data modified on day to day basis Press Esc and choose menu item
'setinfo.doc' for details on autopilot.
Rest of the data (not modified frequently) can be backed up on the removable
cartridges and put away safely for guaranteed and easy later access if and
when needed, safe from viruses, human or otherwise!
Use the `P' (preservation) parameter liberally and preserve any backups
you think you may need in future.
=============================================================================
~WIZARD WILL MAKE THE WINDOWS (Operating System) do ALL (the Backup Work !~
The WIZARD will ferret out every SINGLE file on your system that gets
changed somehow, whether by you or by the Operating System, even obscure
files such as *.ini, *.grp or *.qag or *.qab produced by Norton Desktop and
which get modified only occasionally!! The WIZARD picks these up through
what we call Preventive Maintenance, (Press Esc and choose menu item
'Setinfo.txt' for details) which is similar to FULL Backups but takes only
a FRACTION ofthe time, and, importantly, much more controllable.
Best part of PM is that it can be interrupted and resumed WITHOUT having to
redo the work already done! If it seems to take too long for a particular
directory to be updated, note thec Pkzip prompt which gives you the Path
of the compressed (zip) file. The name of the directory, x.zip gives you
'x' as the original drive letter as 'x', and the name of the zip file
itself gives you the name of the original directory. If you press Ctrl-c
or Ctrl-Break, the rest of the directories will be practically passed over,
or will take a few more seconds to update. Later on, when you have a few
spare minutes you can back up the above directory separately, using the
BKUP option.
